DME was founded in 1942 as Detroit Mold Engineering, to provide mold bases in standard sizes, ready for machining.

Today, DME has grown to encompass a wide range of products catering to the mold-making industry, from standard and custom mold bases to standard mold components such as slides, pins, bushings, and cores, mold venting & cooling, hot runners and controllers, and more.
